Carbis Bay And Spa Hotel, St Ives (Cornwall)

I felt like I was in my own part of paradise at this hotel, with amazing sea views and easy walks to nearby spots. However, there were some issues with noise and rudeness that affected my overall experience.

My stay at the hotel was quite pleasant overall. The rooms were small but somewhat upscale, with the highlight being the big ground-floor room that opened fully to the outdoors. However, there was a mix-up with the bed arrangement that couldn't be rectified. The service was a bit lacking in friendliness and efficiency, which was a letdown. The location, despite not having spa facilities due to renovations, was beautiful on Carbis Bay with amazing bay views. The dining experience was excellent overall, especially the breakfast. The facilities provided were satisfactory.

My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms were not as superior as advertised, with some maintenance issues and limited space for luggage. However, the service from the staff, especially Andrea, was exceptional, making our stay truly special. The location was great, close to the beach and offering easy access to nearby attractions. The dining experience had its ups and downs, with tasty food but somewhat limited portions. Overall, it was a memorable stay with some room for improvement.

I had high hopes for this stay, but it turned out to be quite disappointing. The ground-floor room with a kitchenette and sliding doors was a nice touch, but the noise from the extractor and passing trains made it uncomfortable for a good night's sleep. The newly decorated room was not visually appealing, and the bed was very uncomfortable. On the bright side, I appreciated the refund for the sea view upgrade we had paid for but didn't enjoy.
